Why not install aftermarket control arms while your at it? In my experience with quicklifts from rancho they net around 1.5" on most of the trucks I installed them on..

I believe the 2WD ones are rated for 1.5"

Would it just be easier to buy new 2wd struts and keep my 2.5" spacer?

What would make it any different than a 4x4 with a 2.5" leveling kit?

In theory, nothing. All the part numbers match between 2 and 4wd other than the spindles and knuckles obviously. My upper ball joints are fairly steep as is, so I don't know if I'll be pushing my luck going another 1" with 4wd coils.

I think that's what's going to get you. I've got a 2wd with 2.5" and mine ball joints look like they're as far as they're going to go. I can't imagine a 3 inch or 3.5". I think you're just going to giver yourself too much trouble. I'd stick with just replacing what you have now.

3indh on a 2wd is pushing the limits...There are guys that have 3.5 and 4inchs in the front. The guy that ran the 4inch, Came back crying that something broke. In like 2 days lol....

I have the 3inch and installed it myself. I wouldn't do a 3.5.. That seems pretty sketchy. Altho i thought the 3 inch was sketchy when i put it on... But i've had it for almost 60k miles. And only replaced my tie rod ends.

Okay guys check out my ball joint angles. I measured from the ground to the upper wheel well and it measured 37" (this is with my stock 2WD coilovers and a 2.5" HBS Spacer.)

Then I lifted the front of the truck by the cross-member to relieve some coil pressure and imitate an added 1.25" of lift. Now, measuring 38.25" from the ground to the upper wheel well I took more pictures of the upper ball joint angle. (Keep in mind, this would be equivalent to 3.75" of lift, on a 2WD.

To me, that doesn't look too stressed, especially in comparison to some of the angles the 4WD guys have with a spacer.
