Default 4wd broken

4wd not engaging properly (I have the on the dash switch) I switch from 2h to 4h and it didnt seem to send power to the front wheels for whatever reason but it does make a ratcheting noise at the front rt hub. When i shift it to 4L it seemed to send some power to the front wheels and still makes a ratchting noise. So I started digging into my problem a little more and found out that the transfer case is sending power to the front differntial and the two drive arms that split off from the pumpkin to the two front wheel hubs the pasenger side is turning but with a ratcheting noise the drivers side arm isnt turning at all! Do you guys think that theres a gear that broke in the diff? And about the ratchting does that sound like a bad wheel bearing? By the way I am getting good vacume air to boths front hub and the air shuts off after I switch it into 4WD. Thanks
