Default 4R75E vs 4R75W

Looking for a transmission filter kit for my 08 KR. I called my local dealer with my VIN and he told me I have the 4R75E. The kits I'm seeing on Rockauto say they are for the W. What is the difference?

Thanks!!

They're the same as far as the filter is concerned. The designation changed when the drive by wire upgrades occurred. In fact, they're practically identical save for the speed sensor.

Here's what you want. Don't use the included gasket; reuse the factory one.

And while you're at it.....

Is there a reason to change the pan? Do they have warping issues?

Some like having a trans pan with a drain plug. Less mess if you're big DIY driveway guy. Some have installed them on their OEM pans also. It's an optional upgrade.

Officially, Ford designates all 4R75 transmissions with E at the end. however, most aftermarket suppliers often refer to the transmission as a 4R75W.

Its the same transmission regardless of what designation is used at the end (W or E)

One has 2 sensors on the driver side of transmission and the other has only 1
