Default 4" lift and 35s ?

I have an 05 F150 FX4. i currently am runnin stock sized tires and wheels with 2" level kit. Plan on lifting it with 4" rough country and putting 20x9 Moto Metal 957s on with a 35x12.50 Mickey Thompson ATZs. the wheels have a -12mm offset. I have been told that they will rub if i do any off roading. is this tru? i have considered bumping up tto a 6" only if it has a chance of rubbing, but if not i prolly stick to a 4
Opinions or knowledge appreciated

everything ive read says you can run 35's on a leveling kit. so you should be able to run bigger than that.

I don't think that's possible. Maybe with 8-9 inches of lift

38's dont seem much bigger than 35s and if i can run 35's with a 2.5 in leveling kit then a 4 inch kit i would think i can get dern close to 38's, or 37's

I have a 6in lift and 3 in body lift and my wheels rub at full turn and sometimes off-road so there's no way you can go less than 6 inches

that seems odd to me that i gain 2 tire sizes with a 2 in lift but not 3 sizes with a 4in lift. but im not an engineer so, o well ill prolly find the biggest i can thatll fit in the wheel well and leave it at that till i do get the 8in lift.

When you are trying to fit as large of a tire as possible, it's not just the height of the tire you have to worry about rubbing. The width is probably more important and with that, the width and offset of the wheels you choose makes alot of difference. I had 35/14.50/17 on 17x9's with 4.75" backspacing with a 2.5" leveling kit and 3" body lift. They only rubbed when the wheel was turned all the way and you hit the gas in reverse or hit a bump or flexing. They rubbed at the rear of the wheel well so cutting wasn't an option. So I added a 6" suspension lift and was planning on 38/15.50's but traded it on the truck I have now before I bought the 38's. Now I have a 14" suspension lift and 40/14.50/18 and no chance in hell they are gonna scrub. I think it could clear 44's but wouldn't dare try to do that with an IFS truck.

Quick Reply: 4" lift and 35s ?
