Default 4.6L Ticking at startup

I own a 2004 F150 4.6L and for the last year It has been ticking at startup. After that it quiets down and runs fine. But it scares me one of these days they (the lifters) aren't going to pump up and do damage....
also can you remove the lifters on that motor by taking off the rocker arms and pushrods and removing that way? I had a big block (460) that you could do that....

Everyone throws this out when there is a ticking at start up but could it possibly be an exhaust leak? A cracked or leaking manifold is a likely cause to a tick at start up that goes away. Id at least post up a video or have it checked out by a shop at first before tearing into the motor.

Agreed
A start up tick is likely a manifold leak that goes away as the manifold heats up and expands. With hit exhaust blowing it heats up fast.
