Okay so I got the tools to attempt this now. Tring as soon as my fiancé gets home from the gym I got a 7mm socket for coil packs and 5/8s socket for plugs

It's easy-peasy compared to a 5.4 w/original plugs. The driver's side is angled slightly towards the front of the truck, and the passenger side is angled slightly towards the rear of the truck - so it will be a tight fit around the rear-most cylinders on the passenger side.

Funny you say that our ford dealer wants 400$ for a plug change. And my normal mechanic I used on my older trucks wont even touch it lol!

Quite a few people don't realize the 4.6 and 5.4 use different plugs. It took me about an hour and a half to change my plugs, and that's because I spent 45 minutes dealing with some buildup in the plug tube on one of the passenger side plugs that kept me from getting the socket on the plug.

i just changed the plugs and coil packs on my 4.6 a couple weekends ago they are not as hard as i originally expected took me about 2 hours and im a big guy with big hands and didnt have too much of a problems getting to the back plugs on the passenger side i did unbolt the power steering reservoir on the drivers side to get to the front plugs...i also had to deal with a bunch of build up in the plug tubes but mine were on the drivers side. i actually thought the one plug was broke because i couldnt see the nut on the plug but i just took an air hose and blew all that crap out of there lol

i used a 1/4" ratchet and a 7mm socket with an extension on the coil packs because the ratchet wouldn't fit under the fuel rails

Not sure of ratchet size it's my fathers. But I do have a few extensions he lent me with it that are pretty darn skinny!! Here is what the socket I was tring to use looked like but couldn't get it to hold to the but head and stopped so I didn't strip it out.
