I got more power out of mine, put 4.10 witha detroit softlock in the rear, K &N intake and a flow master exhaust. my milage didnt change enof to notic, and with the 4.10 its got more power off the line, how ever increases ur highway rpms just a little also depends on tire size im on 33inch tires. but ya heres my truck as is

You install gears yourself? How hard/expensive?

Installing gears, i would recomend you pay somone to do it, and in total with install your looking at 600-700$(depending on the price of the gears) i think i got my gears for around 160, but i could be wrong. i put the gears in yrs ago and installed them myself along with the detroit locker and its a pain in the ***, but well worth it. But ya if you have never worked ona rear end /dif i wouldnt recomend learning on something that works already

check out the detroit tru trac, its a nice setup not a full locker but amazing for the street and offroad its a ls, just works alot better then thee stock one ford has, I have the soft locker in mine, chirps the tires every now and then, but my truck has spent 75% of its life on dirt
