Regeared my 97 4.6 with 4.56's and it would light up both 37's with ease. It's all in the gears, assuming everything else is running right of course.

I drive my 05 4.6 right now on 37s. Doesn't seem that bad to me but on the highway it's constantly shifting so I'm regearing to 4.88s. Should solve all that. I also added an edge tuner and i noticed a difference.

it's not gearing. had a 99 4.6 with 3.55 LS, got an 04 4.6 with 3.55 LS, got an 02 4.6 3.55 open. 99 was much faster than the 04, on larger tires. neither seem to burn out well, that said i'd never intentionally burnout a truck. I attribute that to the LS. the 02 I've owned less than 2 weeks and (with the help of the open diff I suspect) managed to completely accidentally burn out several times, especially on rainy days, and I'm a rather calm driver. also feels much more powerful than the 04

Mine was customed tune from a guy here in louisiana, I had sianddo and accell cops. Since then I have true dualed and added a k&N intake and I am taking it back for a update. It is better if you have it custom tuned.

Get an Edge Tuner and change it over to a Gryphon. Makes a big difference on the 4.6

Mine has an edge evo converted to a gryphon and custom tuned by PHP, AEM CAI and aero turbine resonator in place of the muffler. Needless to say she is no longer a dog soon she'll have dual exhaust also and I'm thinking long tube headers. Will be sticking with the resonators and putting Maggie hi flow cats in.

4.6 a dog? Don't know what shape some of your 4.6's are in, but after 110K on my 2007 Supercab 4.6, it will still spin the rear tires. I recently bought a set of BF Goodrich A/T's in hopes to stop some of the poor rear traction I experience, especially during and after a rain. Even dry, I can break the rear wheels loose.

My 4.6 is no dog.

Also what's the most used tuner for the 4.6
Yes, they make a big difference when adding it to a completely stock truck. Look for a used Edge Evolution, you just have to make sure it's unlocked. Should be able to get one for $200 or less if you watch.
