The 4.6 in the GT is instant power with lots of torque and the truck is of course barely there at all with some slight midrange power. The truck is an '06 and the car is a 98, both nearing 150k miles. I think between engine management and hot cams the truck would wake up and start doing it's thing. They are both modular 4.6 engines and should perform a lot more like each other than they do.
If you chained a second Mustang behind your first one it would feel a lot more like the truck!

OP, with your Edge and gears you've done about all you can without getting into mega-$$

go back to a stock suspension with small tires. It will feel real fast then. and save you some $$ on gas.

For those that dont have mega bucks the 4.6 sucks on having power. That's why I added the chrome wheels and stereo system. As for power, all I've done is help it breathe some and added a tuner.

Like everbody else been saying, if you want power your gonna have to upgrade to a turbo kit or supercharger. i have a 07 f150 4.6l and i have all the basic bolt on for the truck (longtubes, intake, pulley kit, e- fan, maf, full exhaust with x-pipe and a custom tune. The truck can barely out perform my buddies 5.4l that has only intake, tune and exhaust (thats sad). So i just went and bought a cobra. Its hard to get any power out of those slugish 4.6l. Just my opinion.

OP, what is your budget? And power goal? The problem with the 4.6..... Is it's only 281c.i...... And the TRUCK intake manifold kills hp.... From the mod's you have now.... Long tubes and cams and custom tune are your next option.... But for the tune your best bet is to sell your Edge and get a SCT programmer..... Now for $5,000 or less.... You should be able to get 450 crank hp out of your little 4.6....don't waist your time on a Vortech or Procharger....wrong blower for your setup..but it's gonna take boost to do it..... Look up TQ Tech superchargers..... They have a kit that has everythg except the blower, fuel system , and tuner...... It allows you to run a used 03/04 cobra supercharger (about $300 used)........ Or you can buy a TVS 1900 or TVS2300 supercharger from them..... I know a lot of die hard NA guys..... But once you have boost you'll never want a NA engine again..... Feel free to PM me with any questions.

That looks like a very good option. Nice that they list parts needed and even approximate costs. Start a saving plan...

Wow. Your mods and their effect almost makes me want to try to do the same for mine. I dont street race so I dont give a crap about out performing the next guy. I'd just be happy with "feeling" a difference with my mods and making it more fun to drive.
