Ha OK...I'll go with the motor craft one for sure. I like the idea of the no dry starts.

I have motorcraft 5w20 in mine right now with 47k miles and it is starting to get louder at idle. I'm switching to 5w30 soon to see if it will make a difference.

Your tick rattle.. oil. Won't fix that. Your Tensioners that keep the chain tight are leaking due to bad seals on them and causes low oil pressure and chain slack on that bank and phasers will not work correctly making a. Rattle or tick. There's a sticky about it. I had the same issue replacing those parts will fix that issue.. Tensioners. Guides. Phasers... I use 5w30 motorcraft.. good to go I also installed a oil pressure gauge in cab

If u know what oil is already in the engine try and stick with that as the cylinder walls and piston are already covered in that oil ans its additives. Switching oil brands are not a good habit to have. It wont do damage but using the same oil will protect better in the long haul.

Yeah Id rather just get the cam phaser eliminator kit that livernoise motor sports offers. What i don't get is I had one of mine go out (phaser) and the Ford dealer fixed it but didn't replace any seals on the tensioners or guides or what not. And then as for the oil, I found out it doesn't do crap for the noise.

I think you would be better off replacing the phaser once you pull the valve cover... Try changing the VCT solenoids first. They have a revision with a smaller orifice and it has helped a lot with quieting ticking... If you have a tick remaining on one bank or the other, then that would be the side with a bad phaser or possible blown tensioner seal... They are cheap, easy and are known to work.

What gauge did you get and where did you tap it for the sender? I've heard that there is an oil galley you can tap on the head somewhere?
