What exhuast setup is best for low end
A lot of exhaust setups offer more loss in low end torque than they do gains anywhere else... So my question for those that have experimented with different setups without a tuner/programer is: what setup is the best for low end power. I'm thinking the best setup for low end would also yield the most gains in mpg's and throttle response (however minimal). Velocity is key, so would I want to keep the stock pipe size and go with a straight through muffler vs a fat catback? I'm not a newb looking for a magic exhaust that makes a night and day difference, I just want more sound and don't want to lose any low end and if possible would like to gain some. I don't really care about top end now, I'll get an intake and a tuner if I decide I want top end.

Straight threw is you're best bet with a smaller pipe. 2.25" for duals or keep the 2.5" stock for a single exit. Any bigger and you will lose a slight bit of low end but you will gain on the top end.

I agree... The larger pipe gets a deeper throaty tone, but you lose some of the low end grunt. I currently have the stock in dual 2.5 out, and would like to go back to my dual 2.25 outs. I also really like just replacing the stock muffler with a single in single out flowmaster. Couldn't tell a big difference but does give a nice performance sound
