Default 315/70r17s on stock rims

I have a 05 f150 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I have some 315/70r17s I tried to get out on today on my stock rims but the tire place says they won't work. Did a lot of research before going to get my tires put on and haven't seen anywhere that anyone can't run them. Is my truck different or what's going on here? They said the tires hit the Uca only after one full turn of the wheel. Went to go look myself and they had them off already.

Is it possible they had it on a chassis lift so the suspension was unloaded making it rub where it wouldn't under normal conditions? just a thought

I asked because I read they will rub sometimes under flex but they say they had it on the ground and level. Im just wondering if anyone else has come up with this problem or maybe i just need to go to a different place

Our stock rims are too thin for a 315/12.50 tire. I put some 285/75/R17's of BFG KM2's and they came out great, my stock rim is 7.5" wide. And if I went with the 315, the sidewalls would be really folded into the insides because you really want a 8.5-10" rim for that wide of a tire. If you keep the stock the tires will wear really hard. If you can't do the extra g for a set of rims, you may want to go with some 285's.
