Default 315/70/17 on an 17x8 wheel
can you put a 315/70/17 tire on a wheel thats only 8in wide?

Yes sir and with proper backspacing they will fit only a leveled truck with no rubbing. Here's my 06 with two inch level and I didn't trim anything and have zero rubbing even when off roading.

I agree with Jerry, the correct wheel let's you run these tires with no problem's on a leveled 4x4. 315x70x17 BFG AT's on my old truck. 17x8 with 5 1/2 inches of BS
