3-4 Inch Level On a 2WD? Will it work? It Should!
I know alot of 2WD guys want the stance of a leveled 4WD F-150, but have no desire, nor actually need 4WD trucks. For months now I have been contemplating buying 4x4 2.5" Rancho Quicklift Struts for the front of my 2WD F-150, but I did not want to spend that kind of money and find out it didn't work. I know all of the front end suspension components have the same part numbers, both 4WD and 2WD (other than spindles and knuckles obviously.) I spent hours searching at least 100 threads from various Ford Forums, but I couldn't find a soul who actually tried this (except one guy who became inactive a few years ago.) When people questioned this idea previously, others would jump in and say you're stupid, or that will NEVER work, of course without anything to back up their claims. Well, I think I may have proved that this could work.
I measured from the ground to the upper wheel well and it measured 37" (this is with my stock 2WD coilovers and a 2.5" HBS Spacer.)
Then I lifted the front of the truck by the cross-member to relieve some coil pressure and imitate an added 1.25" of lift. Now, measuring 38.25" from the ground to the upper wheel well I took more pictures of the upper ball joint angle. (Keep in mind, this would be equivalent to 3.75" of lift, on a 2WD.
This would be the angle of a 2WD with the added 1.25" lift that comes from stock 4WD coils and the added 2.5" lift on top of that, thus equaling ~3.75" Lift
Then I made another thread asking any member with a true 4x4 and a 2.5" spacer to post their upper ball joint angles. (Thank you Ford123)
and....BOOM the geometry angles look almost identical bewteen a 2.5" Leveled 4WD and a 3.75" Leveled 2WD!
So, now that I am better convinced that 2.5" 4x4 Rancho Quicklift Struts will fit my 2WD F-150, they will soon be ordered. I really hope this helps out some other 2WD owners!

I found a low mileage used set of 4x4 strut assemblies that were a 1/4 the price of the rancho quick lifts, so they are ordered and in the mail. These will be mated up with my 2.5" HBS kit I already have. I will report any issues if any come up. I can't wait because I'm almost positive it'll work just fine.
