Phasers are a one and done job though, if you do it right the first time

I think it cost me less than $1000 for everything but I got my timing kit and lifters / roller rockers before the OEM Select eBay store increased the prices

Damn! You get a "Glock" discount, or what? Mine ran over 3 times that amount. Of course I spared absolutely NOTHING - including lifters, rollers, HV oil pump, iron tensioners, MMR racing guides, spark plugs and even injectors (at nearly $100 each) - all of which I do not regret now. Also, I have to admit that - in spite of all the care I took, I made a couple of costly mistakes that accounted for about $650.00 of that. (I busted a $170 Melling Oil pump, and screwed up the A/C compressor, which lead to new compressor - accumulator and recharge). Someone might learn from my mistake described in this post: http://www.f150online.com/forums/v8-...an-pump-2.html

Phasers / chains / tensioners / guides / cam sprocket, all lifters and rockers, water pump, power steering pump, water pump, and some red paint for the valve covers. I'm sure with all that it cost over a grand but not more than $1500. The plug job was easy. $80 for plugs, $40 for a plug extractor I never used, and $40 for a set of eight new COPs, done

... OK, guess were in the ball park. I did all that stuff on the front too - water pump, ps pump, all idlers / belt / belt tensioner, but I used "FORD BLUE" paint on the TC cover and Chrome Paint on the VC's. Lol

Add the near $800 for injectors (I was scared of the cheap ones), and the $650 for "stupid tax" I mentioned above - and we're there. But almost guaranteed - I could have NEVER bought another truck as good for any where close to $3300 - $3400.
