are you set on BFG's, you can find that size for a prety good price. i think Kumho make that size in a all terrian. i have kumho's on my truck now, like a all season tire ( came on the truck) and theyve lasted quite a while. over 15,000 on them and they look new. theyre like 150 a tire or so i believe for all terrians...

Yeah in know what you mean about the 285's going up alot in price when compared to the 275's. I have a 2wd and i have the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 275/70/17's and i love them. I got them all with a warranty at Sam's Club for right at $700 a year ago. I think with out the warranty they were $660, so about $165-$170 per tire.

retreads? i would never run retreads. especially up front. if one ever blows up front you loose control of the truck, bad things can happen. the only time i see retreads as an option is on big rigs, but theyre not even allowed to run them on the front by law.

That's funny given your sig line.

I have the same thoughts about tire size. My truck has 255/70/17 while I am not thrilled with the looks, I don't really want to lose mileage and performance by putting larger tires on. Having said that what are the losses of the slightly larger tires. I have 3.73 gears so a little less rpm nmay be a little better.?
