2012 Raptor Console in a 2005 XLT
Hey guys and gals,
Within the next two weeks I will be completing my project to retrofit a 2012 Raptor center flow-through console in my 2005 F150 XLT. Once completed I will be posting pictures of my completed work and may be willing to fabricate and sell the fiberglass closure piece that will effectively mate the console to the dash. The closure panel should look dang near stock and will allow for full conversion to floor shift. Price would be in the $75-$150 range depending on level of paint customization desired. PM me if interested and/or follow my thread for updates! If there is enough interest I will ask mods to move to marketplace.

One fiberglass Flow/Dash connect piece
Both fiberglass Flow/Dash connect pieces
This is the 2in Diameter hole I cut in my floor to accommodate the new shift cable.

This is the original Raptor floor shift console I purchased on Ebay about a month ago. I had no idea if I could make it work but I'd found a post by olliedad showing how he'd added the same type of console to his truck so I figured I could make it work.
The shifter I purchased off Ebay. Definitely not trying to combine woodgrain, black, and silver so I painted Carbon Mist Gray with Rustoleam and added 3 coats of Lacquer clear for protection.
Here is the console finished with Carbon Mist gray trim, rear, and shifter pieces. This was a relatively simple process but if people ask for a write up I'd be glad to tell you how I went about it.
Fiberglass has fully cured, now it's simply a matter of layering body filler, then sandable primer until I have a smooth surface to work with. I take much solace in the fact that once I've completed this part there is only one more section to fill in!

Also part of my project is blacking out the interior piece-by-piece. Not the dark grey parts, just the bland light grey ones. Since I had yet to re-attach the instrument cluster I decided to take out the rest of the panels as well and get them all looking beastly. Krylon Maxx Satin Black after a sand down with 800grit and a mineral spirits wipe-down! I added a strip of chrome to the instrument cluster well that I think really makes it pop!
