2008 No Aux Audio problem!
This is my first post here, so HELLO to all! I've searched the internet & this forum for answers but have come up with nothing so far, hope you can help.
Our 2008 truck has the single CD MPD in-dash player with the AUX button. It has a factory 1/8" jack for input to the AUX channel. It USED to work with my iPod & other inputs, but recently died. Now we have to run signal to the head unit with the FM transmitter, and the quality is marginal at best.
I pulled the radio today There are two rectangular connectors on the back; the one on the drivers side has multi color wires & looks fairly standard, the other has all brown wires. From all the stuff I've read on line, it sounds like there should be an adapter plugged into the back of the radio. However, both wire bundles enter a harness & disappear behind the instrument cluster. No adapters are visible.
Fuses... I measured all of the fuses with a voltmeter and the ignition swithced to Run. All fuses measured 12V on both sides of the fuses, except for F28, which measures 0V on both sides of the fuse. The owner's manual calls out F28 as RADIO. But there's no voltage getting to the fuse.. Is it a spare, or used for a more advanced entertainment system feature?
I'm not clear about the new security codes & features of modern radio's - the battery went totally dead on this truck two months ago, a power inverter was left on - but the radio & CD still work. Could that mess up the AUX input?
Any ideas why it would suddenly quit working or how to get it to work again would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm on the road a lot in this rig and quality music is a MUST! Thanks in advance

The dealer wanted $300 to fix it and they said it's out of warranty. It's a year old and has 45K miles. Do you think it should be covered? Thanks!
