Default 2008 lift

I have recently purchased an 08 f150 and want to get a decent lift on it. I am not sure exactly what would look best on it. Should just get larger tires than the stock, if so how big could i fit without a lift. If i were to get a lift what would the best life be without getting to exotic on the size. Any advice and info about lifting a truck would bemuch appreciated, this is my first truck and am new to this.

Heres what I'll tell you on that price range. I got a 2.5" Leveling kit, 20s and 305/50R20(very inexpensive) for around 2,000 dollars. a 4" Rancho installed will cost you a little over 2 grand. Wheels and tires on 35s, around 2500 maybe more depending what wheel, tire combo you chose.

Now does your total cost you want to spend include tires as well???If not you can stay undert the 2000 with the rancho kit,Whats nice with the rancho kit,you can keep your stock tires and rims and still maintain the sementry overall as oposed to going biger rims and bigger tires where you change the symentry drasticly as you put more and tear on your truck. Most ppl thoe tend to go with bigger tires and bigger rims anyways.I am staying with the rancho and stock rims and tires.....

for 2 grand on a lift, is cutting it close. prices have went up alot from 2yrs ago..i have seen the rancho for around 1600 and then another 500 for shocks..if you want 6" lift, i would go with the fabtech personally, great kit and you can use the stock wheels if needed also.

Rough Country just came out with a 4" kit too, however it's a real doozy, i asked the rough country guy in the vendor showcase and he has not answered any of my questions. i read the install instructions and if they are trying to compete with rancho, they failed in huge amounts...the kit must have been engineered by a 15yr old...poor skidplate design, you shouldn't have to drill 0 holes, you have to pay more for kicker braces, can't use stock wheels, spacer up front, they stack blocks in the rear....really shows a company that will do whatever to cut costs..

i dont think i want quite a 6" lift kit. what im starting to lean towards is a 2.5 leveling kit from rancho and some 33's... a big step from the stock tires and no leveling kit i think..
