2008 lariat brake job
I'm going to replace all 4 rotors and pads with power stop 36 ones. The last time I did the tears granted it was on my Avalanche they were stuck and I needed new calipers.
So that in mind is there any known issues with the rears where I would need to buy new calipers?
Do the pistons push in, or need to be twisted?

If I remember correctly, mine pushed in on my 05. It's been a while since I had to do a rear service though, so hopefully somebody with it more recent on their mind can confirm.

The pistons push in. When the E-brake is integrated into the caliper you have to twist them. These are not.

I was a brake guru who trained many a young mechanic many years ago but probably forgot more than I remember.
My method was to keep the inboard pad in place to allow uniform pressure to be applied to the piston you are forcing back into the caliper. Slowly compressing with a large pair of channellock pliers will give you some feedback about condition of the piston and caliper walls. The piston should retract smoothly and without any hangups. Otherwise, time to replace piston and hone the bore or replace with a new caliper.

Have a BFH on hand to pound those rear rotors off. The whole neighborhood stopped over to see what I was doing when I changed out mine.
