Default 2008 FX2 compass "CAL" again and again

About once every 2 weeks or more when I start my truck I see the notice
"CAL" in the read out for the compass. So I go to a parking lot and drive in a circle and the compass starts working again. Does anyone else's compass have to be re-cal'd this often.

One note that may be my problem, I park within 60 yards of some large power lines often.

I have a similar "CAL" issue. It only happens when I start my truck at work, where I park near hydro towers. What I've been doing is turning the truck off and then back on again and it's recalibrated... Cant explain it.

Maybe the power lines and hydro towers are effecting the magnetism of how the compass functions? I don't know the compasses in the trucks work.

No, it happens quite often to me at home, nowhere near any power lines other than normal residential power( which is actually all underground in my neighborhood). Mine also is a 2008 (a Super Crew XLT). I have had it about 2 months and have had the CAL thing about 6 times. I have actually done the slow circle thing a couple times, while the rest I just drove it and at some point it reset. I intend to bring it to the dealer's attention when I go in for may first service.

Mine did this and the first time I took it in for warrenty service they adjusted it. It really did not fix it. The second time they replaced the sensor and I have had no problems since (although it has only been a week ;-)

Haven't had a problem in months either, wonder if it is temp related.
