Default 2008 f150, needs motor mounts

I bought my truck 6weeks ago, had 42,000 miles on it. Has a vibration when idling . I have had it to the dealer I bought it from 5 times, last week they said It has to be the motor mounts. I take it in tomorrow to get them replaced, and the dealer is paying for everything. My question is, have anyone here ever had their motor mounts replaced?

I was thinking the same thing. They told me at the dealer that there is no way to roll back the miles on the truck. I asked them what could make the motor mounts go bad, on a truck with 42,000 miles. He said he had no clue

Well mileage aside, 6 year old rubber mounts don't go bad that fast. Something caused them to go bad...prolonged exposure to oil, heat, or heat cycles...something.

That's not exactly true; you can swap the gauge cluster with another one. I swapped the cluster in my STX with an FX4 one, and it shows the (higher) mileage of the truck it came out of.

doubt it’s the motor mounts @ 42K miles... but, if they want to throw part’s at it for free let them...

Well I hope it's the mounts, I have had it in the service dept 5 times. I'm getting tired of taking it in. I will know later today if the new mounts fix it.

The pcm keeps a record of how miles are supposed to be with the truck. You can have a dealer program the dash display to the correct mileage if you want.

Well they called at 5 and said they broke the dip stick tube, so now I will be without my truck for another day. And I still do not know if the new motor mounts fixed the problem .

I picked up my truck last night. The vibration is gone. But now my starter is very loud. I have never worked on this new of a truck. Does anyone know why the starter would be louder unless it was not tightened right?
