That dbl pump and you have a firm pedal is due to the loss of vacuum from the first pump. Or a bad brake booster...lol

I like the brakes on my 04 better than any of the other vehicles i have had. My brakes were gone on my 02 at 33k and my 04 stil stops fine with 56k on them. I don't feel any pulling or pulsing of warped rotors. I drive fast but I don't race to the next stop light. I did get in my dads 05 chevy to move it and about smacked my head on the steering wheel so i can say that the f150s brakes could use some improvement.

YES. My 08 SuperCrew does the same thing. It's very annoying. My 01 SuperCrew never had issues with the brakes. I've gotten used to pumping them the 2nd time to get the response that I expect, but it's something that shouldn't have to be done.

Another thing that really bothers me even more is the a/c. My 01 could sit at idle for hours with the air on and it would stay cold the whole time. If this 08 sits at idle for more then about 90 seconds, the air turns hot. It's ridiculous when you are sitting in traffic even at 77 degrees. Can't wait til it's 95 this summer and it does it!! I'm going to lose it.

Anyone else have this problem?

If you get a chance to do it in the next few weeks let me know how it turns out. Because I plan to take it back to Ford in the next 3 to 4 weeks. I bought mine at end of January and there are other issues that I have with this factory ordered truck as well.

My A/C stays cold, but I find it annoying how the truck jerks when it kicks on out on the highway. Such a large vehicle with so much torque shouldn't have this problem IMO.

Wondering if anyone else brakes feels like that. Kinda almost like just a little bit of air is in the line.

I have an '07 with the same feel. When I took it back I made the service writer, manager, and Tech. all test the ones on the lot. They all had same feel to the peddle. Mine will get a normal feel for a while if I brake hard and then pump brake. They do stop okay. I just don't taill gate any more

The fix for "Mushy brake pedal feel" is quite simple. Most of the ford vehicles i have owned needed this fix done.
THere is a shaft that is adjustable behind the Master Cylinder and is attached to the brake booster. You need to take off the master cylinder but DO NOT remove any of the master cylinder brake lines. There is enough room to move the master cylinder out of the way and not reomve the lines. Be careful not to lose the O-ring that seals the master cylinder to the Brake Booster. It will be kinda tough to remove at first becauase of the vacuum that is still in there. The 2 nuts that need to be reomved are 1/2". After the master cylinder is removed use a 45* or 90* needle nose pliers to hold the splined shaft and unscrew the 7mm bolt on the end of the shaft. This makes the rod longer which engages the brakes sooner. I unscrewed mine (2008 f150 4x4 screw) 3/4 of a turn and it seems to be about right. I took mine for a test drive and then jacked up the front of the truck and spun the tires to see how much drag i had. If you unscrew the bolt too far it will keep the brakes engaged and you will have a warped rotor. If you look at the pictures i used a paint pen and marked the top of my socket so i knew how far i had unscrewed the bolt. Assemble in the reverse order. If you have any questions or this doesn't make sense let me know and i will try to further explain. Good Luck!!!!

sounds simple enough.. be a good job for a dealer since i bought a warranty and got a free truck with it...lol... but if i have a big issue with dealer then I feel comfortable in doing this..
