Default 2008 F150 Limited 5.4L

After driving my truck for about 45 minutes or so the fan comes on and rpms stay around 2000 and when accelerate it jumps to 3000 and then drops back down to normal rpms until I quit accelerating then goes back to 2000 rpms at normal speeds and fan stays on entire time. It's been doing this when it's cold out lately and no reason for fan to even becoming on. Any ideas anyone? Before I just start throwing parts at it

Definitely not right. You AIC (auto Idle control) valve maybe sticky, try to clean it and the throttle body too while you're there.

As for the fan coming on perhaps because your engine is running hot due the funky 2000 RPM idle.

I put a new fan clutch on today and has not done it since then, if it starts acting up again I will try the valve and see what that does. I just did a BG system on it so the throttle body has already been cleaned. Thanks for the help guys
