If that doesn't help the situation, It will make a good trade on a new one....not the route I want to take but also don't want to soak up good money in an 8 year old truck with 156k miles either....

Other than going straight for the compressor? Maybe having it evacuated, flushed, and recharged? Then you know for a fact the compressor is oiled... kind of expensive though.

I'm thinking your comp is shot. Mine did the same thing. Anytime the clutch engaged the truck would shake violently and the rpm would drop.

I have had to add refrigerant about ever other year or so and have added oil charge so I know it has oil. I have had compressors go out on the past and they usually sound like they are going to eat themselves or just sieze up and smoke a belt. What would cause the fuel pressure to drop so drastically when the stall initiates and spike so high afterwards?

He has been summoned
My comp gave no audible signs of failure. I could feel it though. The fact that you keep having to add refrigerant is a red flag. Could be a leak/clog somewhere and maybe allowed debris to contaminate the system?
