Default 2008 f150 grille issue

My 08 f150 honey comb grille will be getting replaced with most likely a chrome surround with a champagne king ranch insert. I want to take the factory grille and bedline the surround tan, and black Bedliner on the honey comb portion. The truck was drove into barb wire before I got it.. So the grille is scratched and it's pretty deep (why I wanna use Bedliner) also used Bedliner on my b2300 grille and it came out great. Okay. So to the issue. As I have read before. The top nuts don't wanna come off. In the middle of the grille attached to the hood. The stud spins.. My question is, how has everyone else gotten them off? I tried holding onto a stud with pliers and it didn't work out the best. I'm thinking to loosen them as much as I can, and cutting the studs and replacing them.

I had to take mine off to install a bugflector and had the same problem. Used a dremmel to knotch a score line for a flathead screwdriver so it wouldnt spin while turning the nut with a ratcheting wrench.

That's a good idea, I'm gonna try that.
