Default 2008 F-150 OEM Aux to Aftermarket Deck

I have Ford 2008 Ford F-150 with the factory radio with no sub. I'm thinking of changing it to a aftermarket deck. Looking at a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. I'm wanting to make sure I would be able to use by factory aux input with this radio. Not that I would us it that much with have Bluetooth and usb hookup on new radio. Just don't want a dead aux plug. Thanks

The aux plug is really a Ford thing -- you can probably come up with a way to hack it to work, but it's really easiest to get a head unit with aux on the front and abandon the Ford plug.

The head unit you're looking at has a rear aux plug. If you're a glutton for punishment, you can take a stereo cable, plug it into the radio, then solder the wires on to the ford plug. Too much hassle for me, but your call.

Why would you care about the 3.5mm aux input when you can connect your device via bluetoof or cable to the HU and have text + control with steering wheel/HU.

I agree. I bought a Bluetooth unit for a reason. That with USB and I have yet to need the aux plug. My post was merely to show that there is a cheap adapter out there.

Why would I want a 3.5mm aux input in my dash that does nothing? I know I would use it with having Bluetooth. But if the head unit has an aux in why no make it come out where the factory one comes out at.

That cable is to retain the back seat dvd systems audio when switching to an aftermarket deck. So If the original poster has the dvd entertainment system then yes he will need that cable.

This is like buying a new computer and soldering on a PS/2 connection in case you want to use your mouse and keyboard from 1987.

I understand I won't use it. I just want it to work. You are not really helping answer my question.
