Default 2008 f-150 noise near tranny

Hi,

I have a 2008 f-150 4.6l. I recently had a reman tranny put it. Since then it has been making this weird metal vibrating sound that gets rather loud. It especially happens when going up hill and you are giving it gas just before it kicks down. If I let off the gas it stops and give it gas again its good until it hits that threshhold just before it kicks down again. I also feel as though this transmission is holding the truck back. As in it is holding power back which is something it never used to do. It happens in 3rd and 4th and sometimes 2nd if the hill is big enough as I am in the mountains.

Thanks,
Paul

you could have blown the guts on your catalytic converters. the sound this makes sounds very much like gravel in a coffee can or like metal vibrating. this would also account for the loss of power or bogging down issue. a few weeks ago my cat internals had blown apart inside the cat casing, I thought it was a heat shield that had come loose. I was wrong, the ceramic inside the cats was being blown around inside the casing and made a very loud rattling noise and major loss of power.

good luck
