Question 2008 F-150 6.5 Bed with OEM Bed Rails Tonneau Cover Help

Hi All,

Looking to get a Tonneau cover for my 2008 F-150 XLT with 6.5 Bed and OEM bed rail caps. Was looking at the Lund Genesis Tri-Fold however Lund says it will not fit unless I take the bed rail caps off (not an option) So I am looking for a snapless or tri fold under $450 that will fit with the bed rail caps in place... Any help suggestions etc... would be GREATLY Appreciated

Hey
I don't see why it won't work but I am not the engineer, I have a Torza Top on my truck and we took the bed rails and notched them because the plastic rail on the inside just slightly runs over the metal.
That make the clamp on the tri folds not hold well, so we notched it so that it would clamp to the metal.
Let me know I can send you some pics.

I have the Genesis Tri-Fold and my bed rail caps. I really don’t see why you would have to take them off. You might want to notch where it clamps down like sean69 said, but I didn’t even do that.

Alright, thanks guys, after a second call to Lund International and talking to technical support they said it would fit but I should notch the rail caps, but was thinking like you that they should fit since the rail cap does not go below the metal on my truck. Thanks again guys time to get the linex and the tonneau cover

Urbanterrain do you like your Genesis Tri Fold???

I work out of my truck so I use it every day and I love it. The snap on top would take way to long and with the fiberglass you can’t put anything tall like fridge or furniture. I can open the top in 5 seconds and it closes or comes off just as quick.

I like my Tri-Fecta a lot. Of course I have a 5.5 foot bed, but I assume that wouldn't matter. I got mine from Amazon for $276 and free shipping last October or November.
