Try disconnecting the battery for 20 min then reconnecting.. (Its a long shot, but try it)

Here is what I have done.
1) tried to start with starting fluid.....nothing
2) replaced crank sensor....nothing
3) got mad and had wife crank while I sprayed A LOT of starting fluid. After about a 1/4 can it fired up. Would not run very good....just barely idled, as i continue to spray starting fluid to it. pumping accelerator did not help, it just barely idled. It ran enough to pull 2 codes....both the same code P061B, and P061B with a small p and d next to it.
4) Replaced fuel pump....nothing
5) Replaced fuel pressure module...nothing

My research on P061B is something with transmission so I do not understand.

I see no test port for fuel pressure testing so I have not tested that, but now its a new fuel pump.....

Given the amount of starting fluid needed to start (almost 1 hole can, 1/4 can just to get it fired up and the rest of the can for about 2 min of running)....could the throttle body butterfly be stuck shut?

Please help I am at a loss!
Do you hear the fuel pump come on when turn the key on? Thats where I would start.

I have good fuel pressure. Scan tool shows between 75 psi and 35 psi....depending on when I crank or not.

Cranking RPM shows 173....so crank sensor must be good.

IAC....values do not change wither I am cranking or not.

MAF shows .5 cranking
TPS shows 18.8 cranking

Surprising a jolt making these problems. So you have fuel, air next maybe something stuck in the throttle body? Only other thing left is ignition and you said it cranks fine but doesn't run and when you use starter fluid it starts and runs rough. Check for spark maybe be bad cop or a loose wire but that bad it would throw a code. Not sure you got me puzzled.

Your 5.4 doesn't have a IAC valve the idle is controlled by the throttle body. If your TPS is a reading 18 volts then you have an issue as its only a 5 volt VREF. I think the code you have is for throttle body problem or TPS issue. Both could cause no start.

The other morning my truck wouldn't start. Its always run fine, its a 2008 5.4 with 77k. I hit the remote start and I heard it keep cranking over and over. After checking all my connections and anything else I thought could be causing it not to start. I finally decided to disconnect the battery for a few. After I reconnected it about an hour later it fired right up! No more problems since? I have no idea what that was all about!

Thanks I will take a look at the throttle control....kinda makes sense due the the amount of either I needed to start it.....IE not getting past throttle body due to closed butterfly.

Well getting closer..... No power to any injector, all 8 are dead. Hope it is not PCM!

I would say check the wiring harness to the ECU/PCM and then break out the volt meter and start chasing wires. If you want to quickly rule out the ECU/PCM instead of chasing wires, then pick one up at a junk yard and throw it in and see if that doesn't solve your problem. You should be able to pick a used one up for under a 100 bucks. Its your money but if it were me thats what I would try next.

Its fixed! I spent over $400 on fuel pump, fuel pressure module, crank sensor, new battery, new fuel connectors, and scan tools.

The culprit was the 10 cent fuse number 6. I checked all the fuses on first day....with a cheap autozone fuse tester. That tester is a piece of crap and lit up on a blown fuse. I pulled the fuse today and sure enough it was blown. Put another 20 amp fuse in and it fired up.l
