Most increase is not because of the tuner itself, but learning how to maximize your MPG by watching the tuner while you drive. You can look at the instant MPG and see what you are or aren't doing to help your MPG. MPG results like this are not normal, search the forum. I get maybe 1 MPG better maximum since installing mine and that is even hard to tell. It helps your driving style more which increases MPG.

"I lowered my torque converter lockup in 4th down so I get it locked up at 40-41MPH. Most of my driving is 45 MPH. Before it would lock and unlock quite often. Also I have it holding in 2nd and 3rd gear longer. It is now where it should be in my opinion. As before it felt like it was lugging along, then to finally get it to get up and go it would be about 3/4 throttle. Now its responsive and quick and much more drivable."

What settings did you use, what were the values, and does the CTS have Level-1 transmission like the EVO?

Hey everyone sorry for the day late reply, my dog tore her acl while I was at work yesterday so as expected things became a royal sh*tshow..

My tune is pretty similar to most probably, this is what mine is set up at..

level two towing performance base, with the following custom settings.

Spd limiter 115
Rev 5500
Tire size 32.6
Gear ratio 3.55
Timing .25 degree
Shifts all stock
Gear 1 lock - stock
Gear 2 lock stock
3 gear lock -3 mph
4 gear lock -5 mph
Gear unlocks all stock
Shift firm 1-2 16 %
Shift firm 2-3. 16 %
Shift firm 3-4. 12%
WOT fuel 1.40
Idle rpm. stock
Cai stock

Hopefully this works for everyone else! I always run the ford synthetic blend oil 5w20 with a ford filter. Changed every 4,000 miles. Tires are at 40 psi. I did change the fuel filter about 5 k ago, otherwise everything else is stock. Transfer case is new ATF. I deffinatly agree the tuner does more on you driving style than the actual truck does to save fuel, but either way it is saving me $!

The amount of money you would spend buying all that stuff would take a long time to recover in dollars saved at the pump, plus you're efficient driving would go out the window with the extra power you would then have.

I just drove 980km (609mi) from Calgary to Vancouver averaging 13.7 L/100km (just a bit over 17 mpg) on a single tank (I have the 136L fuel tank) which I think is pretty impressive. The drive is pretty demanding as you go through a few mountain ranges and I was trying to drive as efficiently as possible.

Just do the speed limit, and maybe clean your MAF... other than that, the 33's and lift don't help you...

The truck is a 2007 f150 5.4l lariat crew cab 5 1/2 ft box with 121, xxx miles. Has leveling kit and 33's. Im starting college soon and will be traveling 340 miles to cleveland ohio every other weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks rocco!
16-17 is about on par at 70mph. As someone above said, run 60-65 you will see about 20 or so, just leave earlier.

My 07 Lariat SCREW w/ 6.5' Box, w/ Level and 33s, 3.73 rears, Gotts Mod, Magnaflow Exhaust, and a Tonneau running Level 2 or 3 on my Gryphon gets Those numbers, at those speeds.

Good Luck in College. You can always donate blood and Plasma, it won't be the first time that paid someones gas. It just doesn't go as far anymore.

I have an 05 super cab with a 6" lift and 36" tires. I get 17mpg city and 21mpg highway. Mods are longtube headers (no cats), MBRP dual exhaust E fans, underdrive pulleys, air raid intake tube with K&N filter.

While I'm sure there will always be differences of opinion, there's always one constant.... you have a big truck. I've built many trucks and Jeeps in my time and found out that you have to put a lot of money into gaining both HP and MPG. Is it worth it when you're about to go to college? You may want to put that on hold until you get settled and find out what your expenses are going to be. As many stated here, there are several options to purchase to get better MPG, but I would really consider the merit in that. Now, if you have wealthy parents or supporters than by all means... lol. Good luck man, these are fantastic trucks, but they are what they are.
