2007 F150 Lariat Remote Start Issue
Just bought a 2007 Lariat with factory remote start. I can start the truck with the key as normal. Remote start fails. The horn chirps, interior dash comes on, horn chirps again, then the PATS light starts flashing rapidly and the truck won't start. If the key is in the ignition, the same thing happens. If I hold the side of the key up to the ignition, then the remote start works.
As far as I can tell this means there is either a physical issue with the bypass or the bypass has forgotten the key and needs to be reprogrammed.
I only have 1 key right now, so I'm getting another one cut and programmed at the local locksmith today. Then I can try reprogramming the bypass.
Does this sound like I'm on the right track?

Well I got a 2nd key cut, but reprogramming the bypass doesn't seem to be working. When reprogramming, I get the rapid flashing that means programming failed and when I try the remote start, I get the chirp signal that means bad programming or damaged bypass (found the right installation manual). I'll need to check with the locksmith who made my key to see if he disabled the add key mode.
The bypass module in my truck is 7l2z-19g365-aa. I've found a 8L3Z19G365BA, but I'm not sure if it's a direct replacement. Anyone know?
