Default 2007 F150, have aux power turn off when truck is off?

Hey guys, first time poster on here...

Anyways, i have a 2007 F150 and as we all know most fords have a constant hot cigarette and aux outlet

My question, i have a radar detector and my xm radio that i plug in but i always forget to unplug it. Is there any way to make it so the aux power outlet and cigarette lighter outlet only turn on when the truck is on?

This has been driving me nuts because every morning i have to jump my truck because i either forget to unplug them or i unplug them half way to turn them off and they slip back in turning themselves on...

Any suggestions...?

Thanks!

i would just hardwire the both the xm radio and the radar detector into a source that comes on with the ignition, would be pretty easy, would solve your problem every time you turn the key on they both would come on

i had a three way splitter i mounted on the side of my console and it simply had a power switch. it had a bright light when it was on so it reminded me to cut it off... but it was alot easier to just slide a switch rather than grab two plugs and pull them out. also frees up the other dash plug

Default Power

I'd think you could wire a relay into the power on the lighter so that it's only energized when you have the key on.

take the ignition wire, run it to a 85,86,87,30 type relay. put the ignition to 85, a ground to 86, and the wire for your ground for your accessories will go in 30 and out 87
