Default 2007 F150 5.4 Engine flush?

I got my truck back in Febuary this year. Had 169,500 miles when I got it. Now has 187,000 miles. Don't know the previous history of it. In thinking of doing an engine flush. What I'm wanting to do is use 5 quarts of 20W50 oil (cheap Walmart brand) mixed with 2 quarts of diesel. Would this be a good idea or should I use a lighter weight oil with the diesel, or should I use more diesel and less oil? Gunk motor flush is 60%-80% diesel anyway. After I do this I'm going to run some cheap oil through to get all the diesel out. I'm also wanting to drop the oil pan and clean it and the pick up tube. At what point should I do that? Also what do you guys think of using Seafoam TransTune in the tranny?

Transmission - I wouldn't put any additives in. Fresh fluid and a filter. There's a couple of ways to do that.

Engine - I would honestly just change the oil and filter. Be sure to use motorcraft filters. I wouldn't dump a bunch of chemicals and tricks into a 5.4....considering how finicky they can be

Edit: This is just my .02. I've got 188k miles on mine and I've only ever used a little bit of seafoam, techron or RP in the tank

Engine flushes can cause more harm than good if big chunks are broken off and clog passages.

There are quite a few people that add some MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil) to their crankcase oil for slow cleaning.

I hate advising anyone to flush these 3V motors. The ports and passages are so small... if something lodges in one, it's sayonara. I'd definitely advise against running anything thicker than 30wt also. Why do you want to flush it?

Also as mentioned above, keep anything out of the transmission that is not transmission fluid.
