And yes, a 285/65R18 will fit without rubbing.

Cooper ST Maxx hybrid at/mt comes in a 285/70/18. I almost bought a set of factory ford rims just so I could get those tires in that size but went with the Cooper Discoverer AT/3's because I love my FX4 rims and the AT/3's are working awesome. It's 12 degrees this morning (-2 after wind chill factored in) and snowing and my tires did excellent on the commute to work.

I just did a lot of tire shopping and I believe that most M/T tires measurements don't include the meaty side chunks in the section (sidewall to sidewall) width.
