Default 2006 Ford F150 front dashboard removal

I want to install a new 1din DVD player in my 06 crew cab and was wondering how to remove the front dash without having to take it to an installer. Does anyone have a thread to go to or have some kind of directions they can post, would appreciate it, Please help.

thanks,

It's held in with 6 or 8 clips. If you open the ashtray and start to pull the dash panel away working all the way around it'll come right out. Don't force anything (you shouldn't have to) it come off pretty easy. I have to remove mine again so I can install my Ipod interface. I probably went get to doing it for another week or two though. When I do I'll take a few pictures and post a new thread on how to do it.

I will be installing a complete car audio and video system this week or next. I got a Valor single din DVD, Kicker CVT sub in a kind of crappy plastic sub box, Kicker amp, (2) 9.2" head rest DVD screens, Pioneer 6-1/2" seperates for the front speakers, and Pioneer 6x8 coax for the back speakers.

I hope this does not take more then 4-5 hours. Will see, and I will post pics when I'm done too.

You got some work ahead of you. be sure and post up the progress

You know how the door panels come off? I have instructions (I need to figure out how to postem up). I can email them to you. They go beyond pulling the panels and show how to even remove the handle assemblies. Pm me an email address and I'll send it to you.

Got it, will let you know how it goes. If you find anymore info or pics on how to remove the front dash that would be awesome.

thanks again

Stereo in-set is just incased with a clip on trip. Use a pryor to pull out the center plastic piece to get at the stereo. The dash itself takes some time and patience to get out. You will need a 9/32 socket and a 7MM wrench to pull out the dash. http://]
