in my dads ford f150 xlt triton 5.4 i put a music cd in the original cd player in it and i went to take the cd out and it said cd error any suggestions

Do you know if the cd is in mp3 format?? Try disconnecting the battery. It will reset everything which should make this issue go away.

it's not the mp3 format the cd comes out a little and then it goes back in

Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. If that doesn't solve the problem then I think I might know what it is.

i know this post is old but this just happened to my truck today, disconnected the ground to the battery and it said the same thing, cd error........any ideas?

just fixed the problem, it was a jammed cd. pretty simple fix......

1.removed cd player
2.removed the top of the cd player(4 screws)
3.looked at it and noticed 2 cds were stacked on top of themselves
4.pushed one cd out the front of the cd player, and it made some nasty noises but what did i have to lose at this point??
5.tested it in my truck before putting it back together
6. reinstall top plate and put cd player back in truck

maybe not everybodys cd player that displays cd error has this particular problem but its worth looking at to save a couple hundred bucks
