i see this everyday. im a porter at a used car dealer. sounds like one of your termanils are dirty. get you some battery termanil cleaner and some termanil protecteant. seprate things . remove connections. spray both bat posts and connections sepratley. wipe with rag. then spray with protectient . reconect and tightin connections. make sure snug and dont move at all. if you have some play even if its tight. get a knife and make a bunch of small nicks in that post.it will take up room to make it snug. boss showed me that one on a 06 frontier.

Baking soda is another cheap, effective way to clean the terminals.

I dont think its the alternator because when my alt went and i was driving home on just the battery my trucks interior lights and lights on the dash were very dim and the dash kept going off and on the screen it said something like check charging system

Check and Clean all your Battery connections, especially the Grounds. It's not the Alternator. If you're only showing 12v at the Battery then that's not enough to crank most modern trucks. Charge the battery.
