Default 2006 F150 Trans Temp?

I have a 2006 with a 5.4l and was just curious as to
what trans temp would be considered high?

I tow a camper for 6-8hr stretches, I have the
tow package, and the Gryphon programmer that
I watch the trans temp on.

Thanks,

T

My programmer blinks and makes crazy noises at 230 but that's still too hot. Under 200 I would think you'd be good

I guess I'm good, the highest I've seen is about 175 while towing.

What's the easiest and most cost effective way to get a trans temp reading?

Easiest is a programmer for sure plus it will give you more than just a reading. Cost effective would be a electric trans temperature gauge in a vent pod

Mine hovers around 150-170. 190 if pulling a boat or big trailer. Fullsize supercrew 4x4. Anything over your engine operating temperature is bad. Especially on this transmission its sensitive to high temp..
