Sounds like your FPDM could be starting to go. Any codes?

when you say shutter do you mean like the front end shakes a little? something similar happened to my 02. it was always after i had it in 4x4. the front end would start to shake and the check engine light would come on. i'm a otr driver so the truck sat for a few weeks. when i got back home i cranked it up and the light was off and it ran like normal. it did it again the next year after a snow storm and i put in 4x4 again. same thing though it sat for a few weeks and back to normal. never figured out what it was. if anyone has any ideas i'm all ears. thnx

no 4x4 - driving normal - read on other post about something to do with the fuel sensor or something causing shutting or skipping - 1st time this has ever happen - have had the truck about 1 1/2 years - bought it with 135k - it relly freaked me out when this happen - any other ideas what could cause this?

FPDM - fuel pump delivery module. Located on the frame rail just ahead of your spare tire. It's an aluminum-based part that is exposed to the elements and tends to corrode real quick, and can cause all sorts of funky issues with your truck that has led many a noble man on wild goose chases trying to track down the problem. It's a relatively cheap part, and very easy to swap out. Climb onset and have a look. You can search this forum for pics of what it looks like and where it's mounted. I've seen them cause shudders, misfires, stalls, shakes, bogs, surges, and eventually it'll leave you on the side of the highway if you don't get to it on time.
