It wasn't very long that's for sure. It barely was enough. I mean if it were 2" shorter, it wouldn't have worked. Just got done checking my SWR. Think it's pretty good right?

RF Gain will need to generally stay most of the way to the right. Dynamike(If you have it) will optimize your transmitting, making it clearer for others to hear, but you have to be careful, if you do it too much in one direction it will sound bad. Keep the S/RF-SWR-CAL switch on S/RF during regular use. SWR Cal is self explanatory. Always keep the Ch 9/Normal switch on "Normal"(Again, if you've got that) unless an emergency occurs. If it's got Noice balance you'll probably want to keep it on the NB/ANL setting for a quieter reception. SWR looks good, may want to check it with an in line meter though, the built in ones tend to be slightly unreliable. But it should be close enough

Oh, and if the "ANT" light ever comes on, don't use the radio until you fix your SWR. The Cobra 29 does however have a problem with that light and it will sometimes come on for no reason, but it's an easy fix if you just call cobra they'll send instructions

I've got a question about tuning. I go to channel 1 and calibrate the SWR. Then I go to channel 40 and do the same thing. The SWR stays the same and it way below 3. Then I switch it back to s/rf mode or whatever it is, and when I go to talk into the mic, the SWR meter goes all the way to 3. Is it supposed to do that?

Unfortunately, it looks like they stopped making it. Maybe you can find a used one online somewhere?
I contacted a couple distributors of Jotto products, and it is truly discontinued...BUT, one of them is reaching out to a fabricator to see if they can possibly make One from drawings and truck measurements. I know there are many folks out there looking for this, and I'll keep the thread updated with my findings.
