hi I was driving my 2006 f150 on the expressway today and all the sudden I heard like a backfire noise. kinda didn't think much of it untilk about 5 minutes later I heard a ticking noise from under the hood. got off expressway and came to a red light and as I stopped the ticking stopped as well. then upon accelerating it started to tick again.. so on the way home it worsened. now it sounds more like a knocking and makes this noise even when I am at a complete stop. thought maybe I blew a spark plug. after I got it home I check the coils and they seemed to be ok and in their proper places. if I blew a plug wouldn't it pop the coil also upon popping out? truck has 87k miles on original plugs.. bought truck back in 2008 which itn then had 24k on it.
