2006 f150 black tail pipe
I have a 2006 f150 fx4 5.4 i was wondering if something is wrong. My tail pipe always has a lot of black build up on it and it seams to blow lots of water out when i rev it up. It did it when it was stock. I thought it would go away after i put a cia, edge chip and a flowmaster on but still the same thing. I also think it doesnt run as good as it should with all the work i have done to it. The fastest 0-60 was 8 sec. What is the deal or is it normal?

ford motors always have water in the exhaust and they also aren't as clean as other trucks. just look at how many cats you have. its no problem you should worry about. as far as the intake chip where did u get it from?

Your near 6K lbs... you not gonna be first on race day. But really, these trucks are pigs. You may want to look into getting a SC if you want a lot more power.
The black soot on the tail pipe is pretty common with these trucks, nothing to worry about.

because the EPA requires them. Water in the exhaust is caused by condensation and a discrepancy in ambient and exhaust temps. Water is not expelled through the combustion chamber. That being said, Ford's modular engines burn moderately clean and carbon deposits are due to rich and lean conditions that are directly due to the EEC's programming. The Silver Oak processor in the newer Fords are inherently sensitive to changes in the MAF's readings, without retuning in the proper means, rich and lean conditions are easy to attain.

05.5-current trucks have a 2 cat system yet I still get a lot of soot on my tip. And it doesn't matter if I am running my tunes from Troyer Performance either, even though it was done on a dyno with the correct air/fuel ratios.
