2006 F150 5.4 V8 Coolant Temp Sensor Location
Does anyone know where the coolant temp sensor unit is located on a 2006 F150 5.4L FX4? I have looked all over the engine and see several sensors but haven't been able to determine which is the temp unit. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Replacing the CHT sensor
Is it easier to remove the intake to get to the sensor or can you get to it from underneath the truck from the back of the engine?

Remove the intake. If your able to / have small enough hands, you and fit a 3/4 inch wrench under the intakes tunnel and get it out. I changed mine before w/o removing the intake. You won't be able to get to it from under the truck.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 5.4L with the engine light on code said P0119 engine coolant temperature sensor however after not being able to locate it and reasearching the location I starting to wonder if what I am reading is true, that my truck does not have one and that the CHT sensor is the one I need to focus on. Please help I am discouraged!

You have one, as the ECU/PCM uses it to decrease fuel pressure during cold start ups, as well as detecting a overheated engine and setting itself into "limp home" mode.
