2006 f150 5.4 truck bucking
#31
Talked to the dealership yesterday and they said it is cam phasers and timing issues. I did notice the other day the famous ticking noise. They said they would prob find a broken tensioner once they took it apart. Im not sure what codes were set off im going to try and find out when i go pick it cause they $3400.00 to do it and i dont think im going to pay that ill get it done cheaper elsewhere. If it were just cam phasers would that cause the missing problem? From the posts ive been reading just a cam phaser problem wouldnt cause a misfire?

2006 F150 Bucking
I've just started experiencing the same issue but I've got somewhat of a clue as to what's going on. I have a ScanGuage II and when I started to get the bucking, I started scrolling through the different parameters to see if I could figure out what was going on. I noticed that when the bucking occurred, the throttle position sensor jumped from low 20's to mid 60's at a steady throttle. The only time I saw this was when it bucked. Hope this helps. I'll be making an appt. with the local Ford dealer shortly.

So first off sorry for bringing back an old thread but I just had my 2006 5.4 plugs changed by the dealer. They said I had a misfire code on cylinder 4 so replaced the coil on that cylinder. Driving home it ran awful, just like what everyone here experienced, so I went back to the dealer and they claimed the computer needed to readjust itself. I made an appointment with them for Friday since it went to dealer running fine and left it running awful so they will fix it, just wondering what you think could be the culprit so I'm not going in blind.
