Default 2006 F1 ignition problem

Hi F150 people, I have a 06 4.2l V6 XL scab, yesterday I go to move my truck at work and get nothing. I remove the battery cables and replaced them and tried to start it.. Nothing. Then I put this price of plastic that broke off the key ( the molded plastic on the key) back on the key, and it fired up. Tried it again when I was going to go home but got nothing. So I get it towed home and start to inspect. Checked power to and from relay.. Good. Checked fuses 101 &102.. Good. I can jump start the starter so it works. But I figured there was nothing else it could be so I just went ahead and threw a starter at it. Still doesn't work. Anything that you guys would recommend doing? Anything common that happens with these trucks? I get no click or anything like that when trying to start. Thanks

Sounds like you need a new key. The keys are programmed to the truck and if your molded plastic broke off the key, that's where the chip is.

Default Try your spare key

If you don't have one get one they aren't cheap, if you don't possess two good ones now only ford can do it and it runs around $150 .
My renter lost his last key months ago and he is facing this ,truck hasn't moved for a year . He may work out the $150 with me . His new baby put a hole in his wallet . He hopes they will find the key in the moving boxes soon .
