???? Really..how in the heck did they come up with that..and why do they "Think" thats it and not "Know" thats it?
I think you need to find a better class of mechanics..
But..thats just my 2 cents worth.

I just read this post. Keep in mind there are many saftey devices built into the truck which if they malfunction would prevent the starter from engaging. Most are sensors such as gearshift position, brakes, transfer case, ect. Im sure there are more. If one is giving the computer false info it could cause your issue.

Do you live where there is a lot of salt on the roads?? I had the same issue and it was the fuel pump regulator module. It is common in the 05 - 07 models if you live in a "snow belt". Unfortunately if your dealer doesn't have one in stock it will be a while before they can get one (there are thousands on backorder thru Ford) I have several contacts around the country and they all said the same thing -- "4 - 8 weeks before anyone gets one from the supplier!"
My dealer said "keep the rear wheels out of big puddles and don't drive it in the rain... it will just die when you are driving down the road!" sweet...
Good luck!

Exact same part, and most parts departments may not know this. I was able to find the Excursion part in stock at my Ford dealer.

During any of these times you tried to start her, did you here a " Click Click" when you turned the key the whole way? The click click sound will be coming from the engine. Sounds like a BBQ lighter.
And do the instrumentation arrows for you speed/gas/battery and everything, jiggle and shake back and fourth at the same time as the clicking noise? ( if you get the clicking noise)
