Default 2006 F-150 Loose steering

I recently had a steering shaft that was binding. I changed it and now I have slop in the steering wheel. I checked the front end and everything seems fine and there was no slop before changing the lower shaft. It almost seems like I loosened up the rack and pinion during the change. Has anyone else run across this? I was thinking of adjusting the rack and pinion yoke adjustment but I am leery as I have never had to mess with this before. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a worn tie rod. Have you tried having someone rock the wheel back and forth while you checked underneath?

I'll check again I was by myself but I had it in the air. I figured I would of felt a Tie Rod before the shaft change though. Hopefully it is something simple though I'd hate to think I ruined the rack and pinion somehow! Thanks!

My f150 has had this feeling ever since I bought it. Like when hitting a bump, the wheel will jump. I've often wondered how to tell if a tie rod end is bad? can someone chime in?

Could very well be shocks/struts.

Mine has just recently started feeling loose as well. I am waiting until I am am off work to get deep into it but I have checked all the usual suspects and everything is tight. I have a fear that the rack is loose in mine
