Thumbs up 2006 5.4L Gotts Mod

Hey yall, I'm brand new to this forum i just bought my first Ford F150. I have been a Chevy/Toyota man until last week. I just installed the Gotts Mod on my 2006 F150 King Ranch. The computers display is showing an average of 14 MPG prior to installation. I'm going to run a tank of fuel through it and ill come back with and updated MPG Obviously hoping it increases. However, the truck is stock other than new tires its the Nitto Terra G2 275/55 R 20. I also have a leveling kit on the way and ill put it on after the first tank and compare those results as well. Looking forward to seeing if there actually is any difference at all.

Wont be much if any for the Gotts mod. It does make an improvement in MPG and HP but ever so slightly. Probably not even noticeable.

Also a leveling kit will not effect gas milage. Tire size effects gas milage not lift.

Basically your factory air intake pulls cool air (yes you already have a factory form of CAI) from the drivers side fender. Where the air intake inters the fender it is necked down to I think 2". Gotts mod you remove that rubber grommet that shrinks the size and replace it with a piece of 3" PVC tube. Gives you a full 3" of air intake to the filter. Minus what the silencer reduces it down to.

https://www.f150forum.com/f4/gotts-i...ication-33219/ This will show you how to do it even though I think this is done on a 97-03 model. You make the same changes but the air filter is in a different place. At least on my 5.4 2007 it is. The air filter on mine is right above the TB where in this thread it is right by the fender like my old 02. Im now rambling....
