I had a similar issue with my 04 Lariat last year. I changed the coilpacks and it's been running good ever since (it's at about 148000 miles now)

BlueBadge,
My number 4 went this time last year, the symptoms I noticed were a slight loss of power, and very short chokes at highway speed. About a week later as I was on the highway again, and it worsened to the point that going up hills it would choke out and lose power. My check engine light came on and flashed off and on until the problem was fixed.

Most notable symptom was the loss of power on inclines, and choking out effect. Turned out my number 4 injector was stuck open, ford fixed it for free once it was diagnosed as an injector stuck open.

Geoff

Yeah, she doesn't lose power on inclines. Just bogs right down when I floor it. Doesn't happen if I accelerate steadily

Default Same here 05 5.4 had 77k on it

Notice truck running slightly rough and cruising on highway you could fill it pulse in cruise control. Knew something was up but it took a few days for the CEL to come on. Saw the four about recall on injectors, Took it to ford hoping that was the deal. 2 hours later they replaced 5 and 6 injector free of charge. Truck has 80k and acting up again. Taking it back to see if there's another one acting up. I don't know why the he'll they don't just replace all. So stupid. If I start getting other problems because of the stuck injectors I will deff be complaining. I'll let you know what happens this time here shortly. Btw I have had tremendous help with this forum. Thanks everyone for sharing all the info.
